Amey Plastics and Xylem

Amey Plastics has worked in close partnership with Xylem Water Industries for over 20 years, providing mouldings and assemblies to be used in their fluid movement and filtration products around the world.

In this blog, we’ll be taking a closer look at Amey and Xylem’s relationship, as well as the innovative AmeyJet pump.

Who are Xylem?

Xylem Water Industries is a leading water technology company whose aim is to solve the issues facing the world’s water, wastewater, and energy requirements.

Xylem work to create innovative technologies that improve our approach to water, from collection and distribution, to recycling and returning it to nature.

Their solutions are geared towards using less energy, reducing costs and encouraging sustainable approaches to all parts of the water life cycle.

The AmeyJet Pump

Through close collaboration with Xylem, Amey Plastics now provide a range of pumps that are used all over the world to move not just water, but all types of liquid.

The AmeyJet pump provides the unique function of being able to remove impurities from surface finishing solutions by moving them around a filtration system, allowing the solution to be used continually.

This is particularly helpful for processes like chrome plating, spray painting and anodising.

How are they built?

The plastic components of the AmeyJet are produced through injection moulding. This means that the parts can be mass produced to an extremely high degree of accuracy and cost-effectively.

The non-plastic parts are then sourced and purchased, and the final product is assembled in house at our Alton based factory.

Alongside our AmeyJet range, we offer extensive plastic injection moulding and 3D-printing services that are used in a wide variety of sectors.
