Challenge:
Amey Plastics was approached on our stand at a Southern Manufacturing Show by FramesetUK, who manufacture and install displays for a variety of conference venues. The displays are made from aluminium square section straights, joined at each corner using a fabricated aluminium corner piece. FramesetUK had identified that their overall production method was rather costly and resulting in their product pricing being uncompetitive.

Outcome:
After discussing the matter with the client, Amey Plastics designed and produced a 3D-printed, plastic prototype of a corner piece to replace the current aluminium component. Replacing the existing component with this new plastic corner piece would save FramesetUK a significant amount of money, by reducing the overall product costs.

With this significant cost reduction in place, the client has also advised that they are now able to reduce their price point for their customers, which in turn, has made them extremely competitive in the market place. As a result, they are anticipating a significant increase in interest in their products from new and existing customers.
